About the festival
The San Diego Hot Cocoa Festival is a simple idea: for one month, local cafes and bakeries create their own signature hot chocolate and we send people out to try them. It’s a cozy way to discover new spots, support small local businesses, and make winter in San Diego feel that much warmer.
Each participating shop designs a limited-time drink using the chocolate they love, plus their own style—spiced, boozy, dairy-free, over-the-top, or classic. Grab a festival “passport,” collect stamps as you sip around the city, and find a new favorite hot chocolate along the way.
- Try one-of-a-kind hot chocolates you can’t get any other time.
- Discover new cafes, bakeries, and neighborhoods in San Diego.
- Support independent small local businesses in a fun, low-pressure way.
- Join a city-wide celebration that’s cozy, not crowded.
